Overview
The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service would like to invite applications for the post of Wellbeing Technician, on a fixed-term basis for 12 months. This is a full-time post working 35 hours per week and there is a requirement to work flexibly including in evenings. This role will involve significant travel throughout Scotland.
Role and Responsibilities
* Support the development and provision of an effective Wellbeing Service within the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS).
* Enhance firefighter safety including the delivery of health and fitness assessments and support to operational employees.
* Contribute to a range of projects that promote employee health and fitness and wider organisational transformation.
* Report to a Wellbeing Practitioner and work with colleagues in the Wellbeing Team to deliver departmental and directorate objectives.
* Travel across the SFRS footprint as required to ensure effective service delivery, including staying away from home.
Qualifications and Requirements
* Recognised fitness qualification at SCQF level 7 / SVQ level 3 or above.
* Proven experience in undertaking valid and reliable health and fitness assessments and provision of effective fitness and lifestyle support to enhance physical performance, health, and wellbeing.
* Willingness to undertake additional training in areas of health assessment and support following appointment.
* Full UK driving licence and ability to travel across the footprint of the SFRS, including staying away from home.

Salary on appointment will normally be at the lower salary point, with progression subject to regular review - in line with the SFRS performance appraisal arrangements. A higher salary placing will be considered in exceptional circumstances subject to experience demonstrated.
This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exclusions and Exemptions) Scotland Order 2013. The successful candidate will be required to join the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) scheme and will be required to carry out regulated work with adults and children.
