We’re working with a beautifully designed, recently opened gastropub in the charming market town of Hitchin. With a strong focus on seasonal British produce and ambitious plans to achieve Rosettes, they’re now looking for a passionate Junior Sous Chef to support their small, skilled kitchen team.

1. £36,000 per annum plus circa £6,000 service charge
2. Live-in accommodation available for around £600 per month
3. Set days off – Monday and Tuesday
4. Open from Wednesday dinner to Sunday lunch

6. Joining a tight-knit team of 3 in a supportive environment
7. Pushing towards earning prestigious Rosettes
Responsibilities as a Junior Sous Chef…
8. Collaborating with and supporting the team in daily service and prep
9. Assisting with menu development and creative seasonal specials
10. Maintaining high standards of food quality, hygiene, and consistency
11. Taking responsibility for kitchen operations in the absence of senior chefs
12. Mentoring junior staff and helping them develop their skills
This is a fantastic opportunity for a strong Chef De Partie ready to step up, or a current Junior Sous Chef looking for a new challenge in a quality-led kitchen with real ambition.
