Overview
Wrexham (East) CAMHS are seeking an experienced Family Therapist to join our service. The role involves a main base and working across our other base as needed, alongside a senior Family Therapist. This is a full‑time, permanent post with relocation packages available.
Responsibilities
The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering high‑quality family therapy to children, young people and families experiencing a wide range of mental health difficulties. Responsibilities include:
* Providing family therapy in line with NICE and other evidence‑based interventions.
* Offering clinical supervision and consultation to staff.
* Developing and leading training programmes on systemic and family therapy.
* Acting as a key member of the multidisciplinary team to support systemic thinking and formulation.
* Contributing to service development and maintaining clinical skills within the wider team.
* Participating in regular in‑service training, peer case discussions, multidisciplinary meetings and team away days.
Qualifications
Essential
* Relevant degree.
* A recognised postgraduate Family Therapy or equivalent qualification at Masters level or higher.
* UKCP registration as a family/systemic Psychotherapist.
* Highly developed knowledge of systemic theory and practice.
* Knowledge of research design and methodology within family therapy.
* Knowledge of legislation and its implications for clinical practice and professional management for children.
* Evidence of continuing professional development as recommended by the UKCP/AFT.
Desirable
* Additional relevant academic or accredited therapeutic qualification.
Experience
Essential
* Substantial assessed experience as a registered family/systemic psychotherapist.
* Experience implementing evidence‑based family interventions.
* Substantial assessed experience in a relevant regulated profession (nursing, social work, clinical psychology).
* Experience taking full clinical responsibility for clients’ care and coordinating care within multidisciplinary planning.
Desirable
* Direct experience working with children and young people.
* Direct experience of Care Coordination under the Mental Health (Wales) Measure 2010.
* Experience of teaching, training and/or supervision.
