Overview
Glynde Ward is a busy, acute 30 bedded Ward Acute General Medicine with a multidisciplinary team approach. We are looking for experienced Clinical Support Workers. Hospital experience is desirable but not essential. A minimum of GCSE English and Maths grade C or 4 or Functional skills for English/Maths, Care Certificate and/or NVQ2 in health and social care or the equivalent role. Training will be provided. Successful applicants will complete an Induction course including Trust statutory/mandatory training.
Responsibilities
* Provide delegated clinical procedures such as insertion/removal of cannula, venepuncture, wound assessment and simple dressings.
* Removal of urinary catheter where appropriate.
* Work as part of a multidisciplinary team; use initiative and maintain effective interpersonal and communication skills.
* Contribute to high standards of patient care and participate in professional development and clinical supervision.
Qualifications and Experience
Essential
* GCSE English and Maths grade C or 4 or Functional skills for English/Maths
* Care Certificate
* Relevant experience in health or social care delivering personal care
Desirable
* 5 GCSEs grade 4/C or above or equivalent
* Evidence of mandatory/training in Basic Life Support, manual handling, infection control, fire safety
* Education/training to NVQ level 3 or work-based diploma or equivalent
* Relevant NHS experience
Skills
* Ability to work under instruction from a Registered Professional without direct supervision
* Digital skills, including use of clinical systems and recording equipment
* Good communication and ability to document care in digital or written form
* Ability to undertake vital observations and escalate concerns appropriately
* Evidence of ongoing development of role-related knowledge and skills; training in clinical tasks such as cannulation, wound care, ECG

* Pay: Band 3, £24,937 to £26,598 per annum (pro rata for part-time)
