This is a permanent, part-time position with a flexible shift pattern within service working hours, Monday to Friday, 9 am to 5 pm.
The Glasgow and Clyde Adult Eating Disorder Service addresses the complex needs of adults with moderate to severe eating disorders across GGC. It is a multidisciplinary team led by psychology, including practitioners from psychiatry, clinical psychology, nursing, dietetics, and occupational therapy.
The clinical team collaborates with service users, carers, and their representatives to identify and meet care needs. They utilize group and individual therapies across community and inpatient settings to provide recovery-focused interventions.
The post holder will join an experienced team of clinicians in a busy, motivated multidisciplinary service. The peer support worker will be part of this team, helping to influence recovery-focused practice.
The role focuses on building relationships with service users to support their recovery, helping them gain greater control over their lives and decisions. The post emphasizes the value of lived experience in supporting others on their recovery journey, recognizing that each individual’s recovery process is unique.
The peer support service aims to enhance the quality of recovery-oriented care and treatment.
The post holder will be line-managed by a Band 6 Senior Eating Disorder Practitioner, with supervision from a designated clinician within the AED service.
This is a 0.5 WTE role, with flexible hours across three days, Monday to Friday, 9 am to 5 pm. Job share consideration is available.
