Electrical Engineer (Nights)
4 on 4 off shift pattern, working 18:00-06:00

Cranswick is a leading UK food producer with revenue of over £2 billion. We produce and supply premium food to high-profile UK grocery retailers, the food service sector, and other UK and global customers.
An exciting opportunity has arisen within the engineering team at our Preston site near Hull. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining plant and equipment to ensure maximum efficiency while operating within food hygiene and health and safety regulations.
Our site engineering team is committed to delivering high-quality products safely and sustainably. We invest in ongoing personal development and training to upskill our team, supporting our innovative projects across the site.
This role is within the site's Butchery Department.

Main duties include (but are not limited to):
* Maintain plant and equipment in the relevant area to optimal standards, safely, with minimal downtime
* Report to engineering management and supervisors
* Perform preventative maintenance, including general PPMs and intrusive service schedules
* Adhere to food safety and H&S standards
* React to breakdowns, fault find, and perform root cause analysis
* Receive training to meet site standards and develop on specific machines/areas
* Engage in continuous improvement activities
* Ensure efficient usage of spare parts, consumables, and equipment
* Perform administrative duties related to engineering tasks
* Reduce downtime due to breakdowns
* Complete engineering plans and maintenance tasks satisfactorily
* Ensure boilers are serviced and operational
* Work with ammonia systems, including resetting systems
* Service, filter, and clean air compressors
* Strip, clean, and reassemble pumps and valves in the affluent house
* Clean pumps and perform basic pipe welding in relevant areas
* Complete relevant legal compliance training
* Meet statutory, legal, food safety, and hygiene standards
* Trace faults and perform root cause analysis
* Understand maintenance and performance validation
* Follow manufacturer’s maintenance recommendations
