An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced Fire & Security Engineer to transition into a Fire & Security Tutor role based in Watford.
This position offers fully funded training to upskill as an Apprenticeship Tutor (Learning Skills Coach), allowing you to step off the tools and pass on your technical knowledge, industry experience, and practical expertise to the next generation of engineers — as well as individuals entering the sector through career change.
This is a structured training environment focused on learner development, professional delivery, and long-term career progression.
The Role
You will be responsible for delivering sector-defined Knowledge, Skills and Behaviours to apprentices and learners within the Fire & Security discipline.
Operating within ESFA and Ofsted frameworks, you will support learners throughout their journey, ensuring high standards of delivery, development, and learner progression.

Strong hands-on experience in Fire & Security Installation, Commissioning & Maintenance
Minimum 3 years on-the-tools experience
Ability to demonstrate and teach core engineering skills
Strong understanding across the 4 core disciplines
Appetite for self-development and professional learning
Willingness to work within ESFA and Ofsted frameworks Desirable Experience
Industry qualifications (FIA, FireQual, Milestone Advanced or equivalent)
Experience mentoring apprentices or junior engineers
Confident communicator and presenter
Experience working to KPIs
Familiarity with Microsoft Teams
Experience using Learner Management Systems (LMS)
Teaching qualification (or willingness to work towards one - fully funded) Salary & Benefits
