Learning Support Assistant (LSA) – Behaviour Mentor Experience

Are you passionate about supporting young people to reach their full potential? Do you have experience working with pupils who display challenging behaviour and require additional pastoral/behavioural support?
We are currently recruiting an LSA with Behaviour Mentor experience to join a supportive secondary school in the Bexleyheath area. This role is ideal for someone who is resilient, calm under pressure, and committed to making a positive impact on pupils’ academic, social, and emotional development.
Key Responsibilities:
Work 1:1 or in small groups with students who have behavioural or SEMH needs
Support teaching staff to manage behaviour and maintain a positive learning environment
Implement behaviour intervention strategies and tailored support plans
Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils to help improve engagement and progress
Monitor progress and provide feedback to teachers and pastoral staff
Model positive behaviour and encourage pupils to develop confidence, independence and self-regulationIdeal Candidates Will Have:
Previous experience as an LSA, Behaviour Mentor, or similar role
Strong behaviour management and de-escalation skills
A patient, empathetic and supportive approach
The ability to build rapport quickly and maintain professional boundaries
A genuine passion for supporting young people with additional needsThe School Offers:
