Job Overview:
The Teacher Support Programme (TSP) is British Council Egypt’s established training and mentoring program for newly qualified teachers, including regular input, peer observations, and support from experienced mentors. Teachers have reduced teaching hours during the TSP to focus on skill development, confidence, and independence. Many TSP graduates pursue teaching diplomas and hold management positions within the British Council network.
Role Purpose:
* To promote and ensure quality teaching and effective learning of English.
* To provide learners with a rewarding and stimulating English language learning experience.
Main Accountabilities:
* Plan, prepare, and deliver up to 20 hours of high-quality English teaching in the first year.
* Post-graduation, teach 25 hours per week, tailored to different customer groups and learning styles.
* Monitor student progress and provide regular feedback, promoting learner autonomy.
* Engage in professional development to maintain high standards and stay at the forefront of ELT practices.
* Participate in training sessions, peer observations, and meetings as scheduled.
Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree in any discipline.
* Cambridge CELTA or Trinity Certificate TESOL.
Work Experience:
* 0 years post-certificate experience (required for newly qualified applicants).
Language Requirements:
High proficiency in English, equivalent to CEFR C2 and IELTS band 8/9 in all sections.
Right to Work:
* Relocation support available for non-Egyptian candidates.
* Egyptian residents with the right to work in Egypt are welcome to apply.
* Applicants need a passport valid for at least six months.
Salary & Benefits:
International mobility contract (residing outside Egypt):
* Salary: 13,388 EGP gross + GBP 315 net monthly Sterling supplement.
* Housing allowance: Unaccompanied - 4000 EGP; with 1 dependent - 5500 EGP; with 2+ dependents - 7500 EGP.
Local contract (residing in Egypt):
* Salary: 13,388 EGP gross.
* Contributions deducted as per law.
* Annual leave: 35 days plus 16 public holidays.
* Medical insurance covering the employee and family, managed by Allianz.
