Job Description:
What you’ll be doing
As the Mechanical & Electrical Technician, you will:
* Ensure the health, safety, and well-being of yourself, colleagues, contractors, and visitors by complying with Health and Safety regulations and Thames Water’s guidelines.
* Undertake reactive and planned maintenance, respond to alarms, fault find, fix issues, or escalate as needed; perform daily maintenance of plant and equipment; install new plant and equipment following current standards and regulations.
* Record work and asset information to improve business performance, identify potential risks, and recommend changes.
* Provide technical advice, coach, train, and develop staff, including apprentices.
* Deliver excellent customer service, interacting professionally and courteously with internal and external customers.
Base Location: Rye Meads Sewage Works - SG12 8JY
Working hours: 38 hours/week, Monday-Friday, 7:30 am - 3:36 pm, with standby, overtime, and potential additional earnings of £8,000-£10,000 annually after training.
Provided equipment: PPE, tools, a company van when on duty and call.
Qualifications and skills:
* Time-served apprentice with significant experience in mechanical/electrical systems or NVQ/C&G Level 3 in mechanical/electrical engineering.
* Problem solver, able to identify issues and implement solutions or escalate.
* Excellent communicator with technical expertise.
* Resilient and adaptable to change.
* Self-motivated with minimal supervision, knowledgeable about health and safety.
* Team player, respectful, supportive of others' development.
* Full UK driving license.

* Salary up to £45,000/year, plus van, tools, PPE.
