We have an exciting role for a highly motivated Operations Manager to join our esteemed team in Area 10 based across the North West of England, specifically located in Milnrow.
Collaborating closely with our client National Highways, Amey takes pride in delivering top-tier Maintenance and Response services, catering to the extensive network across the North West.
Working with National Highways, Amey provides Maintenance and Response services for more than 300 miles of strategic road network in the Northwest, including some of the region’s busiest motorways: the M6, M56 and M62. Amey’s Highways business also carries out grass cutting, sign cleaning and pothole repairs, as well as providing traffic management, incident response and winter maintenance services, including gritting and snow clearance.
The standard hours of work are 37.5 hours per week and you will be based at the Milnrow Depot. There may be requirements to travel around the Area 10 network to support the wider operational teams.
Operations Manager will provide the key leadership of the Central team and possess a solid grasp of highway maintenance standards, regulations, and industry best practices. A strong dedication to safety and sustainability is a must-have trait for this role.
You will be responsible for:
· Operational Leadership: Lead and manage a team of highway maintenance professionals, ensuring effective execution of maintenance activities and adherence to safety standards.
· Performance Management: Monitor and evaluate the performance of maintenance operations, implementing improvements and innovations to enhance efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
· Contract Compliance: Ensure strict adherence to contractual obligations, quality standards, and health and safety regulations.
· Budget Management: Responsible for managing the budget for highway maintenance activities, including cost control and forecasting.
· Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with National Highways, local authorities, and other stakeholders to ensure effective communication and alignment of goals.
· Risk Management: Identify and mitigate operational risks, implementing proactive measures to prevent incidents and accidents.
· Continuous Improvement: Drive a culture of continuous improvement, promoting best practices and innovative solutions.
· Environmental Sustainability: Champion sustainable practices and environmental initiatives in highway maintenance operations.
