Description
DAC Beachcroft's Casualty Injury team is expanding due to ongoing client wins and growth. We are seeking a Supervisor to join our team.
The team specializes in employers' liability and public liability claims, handling cases valued up to £100k, with supervisors and senior lawyers managing cases beyond this threshold. This role offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic, supportive environment with comprehensive training, handling diverse EL/PL claims. It is ideal for developing technical expertise, enhancing time management skills, and building professional connections.
At DAC Beachcroft, you'll work with one of the country's leading law firms, gaining practical experience and expanding your professional network by engaging with major clients in the insurance and corporate sectors. We welcome applicants from across the UK, offering remote, in-office, or hybrid working options, with a preference for candidates based near Birmingham or South Wales.
Responsibilities
Manage and supervise a small team of Paralegals responsible for volume litigated EL/PL cases. Ensure effective supervision and support, including:
* Technical supervision of claims
* Performance reviews and team motivation
* Absence management
* Communication of senior management directives
* Team well-being and development
* Monitoring financial performance and targets
* Proactive case file management
* Ensuring legal work meets client and firm standards
* Addressing risks and compliance issues with the Team Partner
* Work allocation based on skills and profitability
* Handling escalated complaints or risks
Additional duties include:
* Acting as a client contact and supporting marketing activities
* Managing a caseload of EL/PL claims
* Staying informed on firm strategies and training
* Handling confidential information per data security protocols
Candidate Profile
* A Solicitor, Chartered Legal Executive, or experienced Paralegal, ideally with supervision experience, preferably in Personal Injury but other supervision backgrounds are considered
* Experience managing EL/PL or similar case types
* Strong compliance with SLAs, protocols, and KPIs
* Effective people management skills
* Proficient in IT, especially Excel and Word
* Excellent prioritization, organizational, analytical, and communication skills
* Commercial awareness and resilience
* Quick learner with a positive attitude towards feedback
