Morson Talent are recruiting for Mechanical fitters to work with our client, providing specialist engineering services on-site at Rosyth dockyard in Scotland.
Key Accountabilities
Day-to-day, youll be expected to undertake general Mechanical Fitter activities, including below:
Work to engineering drawings and technical specifications
Remove, overhaul and install a variety of mechanical equipment which could
Include hydraulics, water and fuel systems and LP/HP air
Assist commissioning teams with setting to work
Install and align the overhauled equipment
Work alongside OEM reps on equipment
As well as daily routine maintenance checks, you will be expected to plan and execute operations in a safe and controlled manner on behalf of the company in accordance with the HSE at Work Act and job-specific method statements. You will take ownership of activities and processes within your manufacturing remit and ensure safe working practices are adhered to at all times under a safety first culture.

Qualifications/Experience
Recognised Mechanical Engineering apprenticeship qualified to SVY level 3 (or NVQ and C&G equivalent) or HNC and above in a Mechanical Engineering discipline with industry experience.
Previous Mechanical fitter experience within a maintenance or ship environment.
Ability to understand and read drawings, think on your feet and problem solve with a high attention to detail and fault finding.
Ability to demonstrate attention to detail and a focus on producing high-quality work to meet acceptance standards.
Experience in Maintenance procedures, Risk Assessments, Method statements, COSHH assessments and Safe Systems of Work with excellent teamworking skills.
Systems installation covering
Shaft-line
Power Generation
Prime movers
Assorted valves, pumps, propellers and rudders
Removal of mechanical equipment
36 standard hours per week, with overtime possible.
Full SC clearance is a requirement for this role.
