This focus has ensured that the council is in a strong position financially, with a balanced MTFS, and we are now seeking to appoint to two key Principal Accountant posts within the finance team who will help to ensure that the council’s long-term financial health and sustainability is maintained. The ‘Principal Accountant – Revenue’ post is responsible for leading the in-year budget monitoring and reporting process and play a key role in the annual budget setting process and statement of accounts production. The ‘Principal Accountant – Capital’ post provides the direction for managing the financial support to the Council’s Capital Programme, ensuring effective working with project officers to enable accurate and timely financial updates, as well as supporting the capital aspects of the annual statement of accounts and budget processes.
