We believe that every child can succeed given the right adjustments and care.The successful applicant will possess the skills and abilities to foster home-school partnerships, build trusting relationships with staff, students and families and work collaboratively with staff to personalise the learning for students who require adjustments and support.The Learning Diversity Leader will work in collaboration with the school Leadership Team, Student Engagement Leader, teachers and learning support staff to create the conditions for effective teaching practice to promote improved student learning outcomes and student engagement. This position will be available from Term 2, 2026. This position will be days, most likely Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday - negotiable). The role includes Leadership in EAL and teaching new arrivals. Depending on the candidate, inclusion in the School Leadership Executive Team will be considered. Previous leadership experience in the Learning Diversity field, or in other areas of school leadership, is preferable. It is expected that the successful applicant will be able to demonstrate:

ability to support teachers in the use and analysis of student outcomes data to inform learning and teaching, including an understanding of the Response to Intervention model and multi-tiered levels of support.
ability to support and assist with professional learning of teachers particularly in relation to differentiation, intervention, learning adjustments and inclusive practices within learning environments
ability to support Learning Support Officers, including providing opportunities to meet and develop their professional knowledge
understanding of student needs in relation to social interaction with their peers and experience in developing and implementing programs, play plans to improve resilience, communication skills and everyday life skills.
understanding of student needs in relation to behaviour management and experience in developing and implementing behaviour plans or safety plans.
understanding of processes to support students with transition from kinder to primary, primary to secondary school and from one-year level to the next to ensure a smooth transition.
understanding of facilitating meetings between different stakeholders, school or kinder visits and implementing the resources required e.g. social stories
ability to organise and facilitate Program Support Group (PSG) meetings and accurately record and distribute minutes to relevant parties
ability to maintain confidentiality in relation to all student and family information
ability to support staff to maintain accurate records and track the progress of students with specific learning needs to inform PLPs
a working knowledge of the NCCD framework and how to effectively meet the documentation and evidence requirements for funding
ability to liaise and communicate with the school's Leadership Team, and the Student Engagement Leader
ability to undertake administrative tasks as required e.g. Medical Management Plans, ROSAE online referral system
ability to co-ordinate with external allied health professionals and maintain accurate and up to date records of onsite therapists
knowledge of implementing and tracking student progress against the EAL curriculum
previous leadership experience desirable
