WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
The Application Support Analyst in RBSL Information Management & Technology department plays a key role in ensuring the services provisioned by the Enterprise and Business Applications function are performing satisfactorily. RBSL manages a mix of in-house supported applications and third-party supported applications.
Position Duties and Responsibilities
1. Provide support to users and third parties by triaging incidents, supporting investigations, and fulfilling service requests.
2. Monitor, maintain, and improve application services managed by RBSL, collaborating with users and business owners.
3. Act as Service Owner for various application systems, ensuring SLAs are met and liaising with third-party suppliers for resolution.
4. Maintain a customer-focused approach, assist Business Owners and Users, and create Knowledge Base articles.
5. Develop user processes and procedures for applications.
6. Serve as escalation point for major incidents, service failures, or customer complaints, keeping stakeholders informed.
7. Stay updated on service disciplines and relevant developments.
8. Collaborate with vendors and suppliers to maintain positive relationships and compliance.
9. Participate in meetings about existing and future supported applications, contributing to project development.
10. Support release, deployment, upgrades, and patches, reviewing impact and testing changes.
11. Manage application licenses.
12. Work with Data Owners, Compliance, and Cyber Security to ensure data security and supportability for certifications like Cyber Essentials.
13. Represent application services in Change Advisory Board meetings.
Qualifications
* 2+ years in application support or similar role
* Experience managing application services via third parties
* Supporting SQL, Windows Server 2019, Microsoft Office (especially Access), internal web apps (HTTPS, IIS, TLS)
* Understanding business processes in IT context
* Experience with FlexLM advantageous
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Experience with service management tools like ServiceNow
* Knowledge of ITIL or similar frameworks
* Attention to detail and quality
* Occasional travel to other sites
* Willing to undergo BPSS security checks
