You will help transform how defects are located and corrected within Circuit Card Assembly manufacturing, using state‑of‑the‑art Flying Probe test equipment to fast‑track fault investigation for test engineering teams.

The opportunity
This is a newly created team working to improve fault identification and correction in circuit card assembly. You will develop new Flying Probe test packages and update existing ones, analyse test results, and suggest improvements to test coverage and reliability.
Key Responsibilities
* Create new Flying Probe test packages using the SPEA 4050S2 system, following a documented development process from data‑pack import through debugging to statistical analysis.
* Correct and improve existing test packages in response to product changes and yield optimisation.
* Analyse test results and make adjustments to increase yield.
* Collaborate with stakeholders and cross‑team members for fault diagnosis at component‑level using a range of test equipment (oscilloscopes, multimeters, signal generators).
Qualifications
A formal technical Engineering/Craft Apprenticeship (NVQ Level 3/TR23/TR21) plus a formal further‑education certificate to Level 4 (HNC or equivalent), OR a BEng/BSc in a relevant Engineering degree.
Key Skills
* Expertise in electronics test & diagnosis: strong understanding of electrical/electronic measurement, test principles and fault diagnosis techniques.
* Engineering documentation: ability to interpret detailed schematics, drawings and test documentation.
* Hands‑on experience with manual and automated test equipment, preferably in a defence or high‑reliability manufacturing environment.
* Experience (desired) with Flying Probe systems, including guarding methods, probe allocation and development principles.
