Visiting Music Teacher (Trombone/Tuba) role at TES FE News
Hours: Part-Time, currently 2 students available per week. It is anticipated there will be more hours of teaching available once new applications for lessons are received ahead of September.
Contract: Self-Employed, Term Time Only.
We are looking to appoint an energetic and passionate Trombone Teacher who can inspire a love for music in our students and foster their motivation to excel and perform. The ability to teach Tuba and Euphonium will be an advantage.
Responsibilities
* Teach Trombone primarily, with possible opportunities to teach Tuba and Euphonium.
* Deliver high-quality lessons that enable students to achieve exceptional standards in music examinations and concert performances.
* Teach primarily one-to-one lessons; may also provide guidance with duets/trios, concert preparation, and performance coaching as needed.
* Manage own teaching schedule with support from the Graduate Music Assistant when required.
* Timetable lessons to fit the rota system; use SOCS Music to timetable students.
* Encourage recruitment of new pupils and be available to increase teaching hours.
* Teach around 30 individual lessons to a pupil over the academic year; each lesson lasts 35 minutes.
Qualifications and Skills
* Extensive experience as both a performer and educator across all levels, with the ability and willingness to teach students from beginners to Grade 8 and beyond.
* Adaptable, proactive, and possess excellent communication skills.
* Ability to promote Brass instruments at the College.
