As a Phlebotomist, you will be responsible for performing venepuncture on patients in accordance with local and national guidelines, ensuring patient comfort, safety and dignity at all times. You will also be responsible for labelling, packaging, and ensuring the safe transportation of blood samples to the laboratory. You’ll play a key role in supporting the nursing and GP team by ensuring accurate and timely blood collection for routine monitoring, diagnostic purposes, and chronic disease management. The post holder must be confident, compassionate and able to work independently, with a strong understanding of infection control, confidentiality and record keeping.
You may also support other clinical tasks within your scope of competence and assist in maintaining stock levels, clinical room cleanliness and assisting with general administrative duties relating to phlebotomy.
