Job Title: Technical Coordinator Location: Charing, Ashford Salary: £40,000 Hours: 40 Hours per week – Monday – Friday 08.00 – 17.00 with 1 hour unpaid lunch break Job Summary To assist the Technical Manager in implementing food safety, quality, and hygiene practices across the UK business. Provide competent and efficient support to both Internal and external customers. To maintain site technical systems with compliance against required customers standards. To trend, identify and communicate any deviations from the standards in the process of audit against the systems. Teamwork Support other members of the technical team regarding issues as they arise. To work closely with members of other teams throughout Ardo. Actively assist others to find solutions to problems. Contribute ideas and solutions to improve the team’s service delivery. To cover for the Raw Material Intake Coordinator in their absence. Communication Communicate with other relevant departments within Ardo, at all levels. Share information with team. Keep the Technical Manager informed regarding any issues. Competent using different platforms of communication such as teams, email, telephone, written correspondence, online customer databases. Strategic To understand the importance of HACCP and to work closely with colleagues throughout the business to ensure that we, at all times, maintain the necessary standards. With guidance from the Technical Manager ensure that, in all customer complaint correspondence, a professional image of Ardo is portrayed. To assist the Technical Manager with ad hoc projects i.e., process validation, launch of new products etc. Analytical Ensure that all documentation is completed in a timely and accurate fashion. Embrace the QMS system and use this as a tool for continual improvement. To trend data in order to report any out of ordinary spikes in complaint, micro or quality issues. Responsibilities & Expertise To actively promote a safe culture, ensuring all Health & Safety requirements are met. Completion of technical information for internal and external KPIs and their distribution and monitoring Administration of complaints database. Ensure complaint investigations address root cause and liaise with the QA Manager to ensure there are no overdue investigations. Maintain and analyse for trends. Ensure customer complaint response are returned in timely manner. KPI reporting - Analyse technical KPI (nutritional’s, micro, complaints etc.) info and flag up adverse trends to Technical Services Manager ensuring improvement actions are agreed and documented for all adverse trends. Custodian of technical documentation and their control. Audit and maintain quality assurance records. Example: Certificates of Analysis Assist QA/Technical Manager in keeping documentation up to date in line with legislation. To step up and cover in the absence of Technical Manager. To maintain an up-to-date calibration schedule for all equipment in use for monitoring product safety, legality, and quality. To be a super-user in key technical systems such as metal detection, auto-coding, monitoring equipment functionality (pH, moisture, temperature date profiling), weighing systems, magnet, and sieving systems, CCP validation protocols, swabbing protocols, micro modelling. Support QC/ Technical Manager with conducting gap analysis for changes in legislation and COPs and monitor timely close out of gaps. Support with approval of new packaging as needed. To order consumables (such as laboratory consumables) as and when required Member of the site HACCP and TACCP/VACCP teams providing guidance on best practice from subject area research Any other projects or tasks required by the business to ensure best in class standards are implemented. To be able to present the company at both internal and external audits such as BRC, organic and customer audits. Complete internal audits. Examples: Glass, Packaging, Critical Control Points. Logging of micro and shelf-life analysis. If outside limits, then ensure appropriate action is taken. Liaising with customers, consumers, and suppliers where necessary. Conduct daily taste panels, record results, and publish. Maintain pesticide list. Assist in sampling, preparation, send off and administration of samples for micro, nutritional, allergens, pesticides, heavy metals. Provide information to Technologist’s based on customer requests. Manage the list of samples required to be tested and communicate that with different departments. Please note that this list is not exhaustive and will be subject to workload at the time. Compliance Maintain a full understanding of the legal requirements required within the departments and within the business to be able to operate with full legal compliance. Personally comply with all policies, procedures, and risk assessments relevant to the role and industry responsibilities. Qualifications and Experience Minimum of Food Safety training and HACCP Level 2 Minimum of 3 years’ experience within the Food Manufacturing Industry Good level of PC literacy Proactive attitude Ability to work on own initiative but also as a team.
