Ward Sister/Charge Nurse
Job Summary: An exciting opportunity for a Ward Sister/Charge Nurse to join the team on Ward E16. The role requires an inspirational leader who motivates and develops a team, works with patients to deliver excellence in nursing care and supports patients, families and staff with kindness and care.
Main Duties
Self‑driven, innovative with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, highly motivated to provide the highest standards of care while demonstrating clear leadership. Provides support and supervision of nursing and non‑nursing staff, assists in maintaining and monitoring standards through Nursing Metrics Dashboard, Tendable Benchmarks and Trust Infection Control Audits.

Responsibilities
* Lead a team of nursing and non‑nursing staff to deliver excellence in patient care.
* Motivate and develop the team; provide support and supervision.
* Maintain standards through metrics dashboards, benchmarks and infection control audits.
* Lead the clinical team to deliver the highest possible standards of care.
* Continuously improve patient experience.
Qualifications
1. Essential: Current level one NMC registration; degree in health or nursing related studies; relevant post‑basic study; suitable teaching & assessing / mentoring qualification; formal leadership and management training.
2. Desirable: Research training/experience; completion of all local competency packages; continuing professional development / reflective profile.
Experience and Skills
* Post‑registration experience, including management and leadership experience.
* Supervision of non‑registered staff, pre‑registration and post‑basic students.
* Evidence of mentoring ability.
* Ability to lead change and new ways of working.
* Communication and relationship skills: presenting complex information, negotiation, influencing, assertiveness, conflict handling, teamwork, self‑awareness, supporting colleagues and patients in distress.
* Planning and organisation: formulating short and long‑term objectives, prioritising workload, recognising and responding to urgent situations, supporting development of team members.
* Analytical and judgement skills: analysing complex problems, prioritising responses, and implementing effective interventions.
