Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Deputy Manager to join our private day nursery. The successful candidate will support the management team in delivering high-quality early childhood education and care, ensuring a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for children. Duties
* Assist the Manager in overseeing daily operations of the nursery
* Support the planning and implementation of educational programmes tailored to children's developmental needs
* Supervise and mentor nursery staff and ensure team adherence to policies and procedures
* Maintain effective communication with parents and carers regarding children's progress and centre activities
* Ensure compliance with health, safety, and safeguarding regulations at all times
* Organise staff rotas, manage attendance records, and support recruitment processes
* Contribute to creating a welcoming, inclusive, and engaging environment for children and families
Requirements
* Proven management and leadership skills within a childcare or nursery setting
* Experience working with children, ideally within early childhood education or childcare environments
* Strong understanding of child development principles and nursery best practices
* Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written
* Ability to lead, motivate, and support a team of childcare professionals
* A full and relevant childcare qualification
* Experience with children's activities, behaviour management, and safeguarding procedures
* Valid driving licence is advantageous due to location and for attending external meetings or events
