Sense is looking for Support Workers to join our service in Exeter, working 37.5 hours per week for £12.50 per hour.
This is a challenging role, but incredibly rewarding. You will be part of an award-winning team, providing outstanding care and support. We will support you both personally and professionally to develop the skills, knowledge, and experience to support individuals with learning disabilities, sensory impairments, and behaviors of concern. Each person we support communicates and understands the world uniquely. We support complex health needs, including moving and handling due to physical disabilities.
The people we support have diverse needs, wants, and wishes. You will enjoy supporting them in various interests such as sports, musicals, festivals, celebrating events, and engaging with the community, along with meaningful activities within their homes.
This role operates on a rolling 4-week rota, with day and afternoon shifts, including every other weekend.
We’re looking for enthusiastic applicants who are:
Positive, with a can-do attitude.
Caring and empathetic.
Passionate about enhancing others’ lives.
Willing to work towards a Level 2 Diploma in health and social care or equivalent (or already have one).
Have some experience with adults with learning disabilities, deafblindness, and challenging behaviors.
May have some BSL skills.
A full UK Driver’s License is desirable.

In addition to support from management, we have a ‘Buddy Scheme’ for peer support. You will also have access to training and professional qualifications to support your development.
This role in Exeter may include supporting people with:
Everyday tasks like cooking and cleaning.

Medication and wellbeing.
Community trips for shopping and activities.
Social and nightlife activities.
