The Role

You'll be a key part of our engineering team, ensuring our production lines run smoothly and efficiently. Your main responsibilities will include:

* Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM): Conducting routine maintenance on all plant machinery, including packaging, conveying, and processing equipment, to minimize downtime.
* Reactive Maintenance: Responding quickly and effectively to machinery breakdowns to diagnose and repair faults, using your problem-solving skills to get production back online.
* Continuous Improvement: Actively participating in projects aimed at improving machine reliability, performance, and safety.
* Fault Finding: Using your expertise to troubleshoot electrical and mechanical issues, including working with PLC systems (Programmable Logic Controllers), pneumatics, and hydraulics.
* Safety Compliance: Ensuring all work is carried out in line with health and safety regulations and company procedures.

Candidate Requirements

We are seeking an engineer with the following skills and experience:

* Qualifications: Ideally you would possess relevant engineering qualification, such as an NVQ Level 3 or HNC in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or have completed an apprenticeship.
* Experience: Proven experience (at least 3 years preferred) in a maintenance engineering role. Within a manufacturing, production, or FMCG (Fast-Moving Consumer Goods) environment, particularly with packaging machinery would be desirable but not essential
* Skills: Strong multi-skilled capabilities with a understanding of both electrical and mechanical systems.
* Personal Attributes: A proactive, reliable, and adaptable individual who can work well both independently and as part of a team. Excellent communication and problem-solving skills are essential.
