Summary
A part-time (18.5hrs), permanent scheme support officer in a supported housing service, Ty Trosiad, Newport. You will work on a rolling rota which includes days, evenings, weekend availability and sleep-in shifts (additional £62.64 payment). This role also involves lone working.

About the Role
Ty Trosiad is a 10 bed supported housing service for people with long term, complex needs. Here we support people with mental health issues, substance misuse and a history of not coping with managing their own tenancy. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is looking for a rewarding role where you would be responsible for ensuring the health & safety of the building, monitoring people coming to and leaving the scheme, and being the point of contact for our clients, whether they need advice, support, or somebody to talk to.
Day To Day Duties
* Engage and interact with the people we support
* Support Project Workers in delivering workshops relating to tenancy management and health and wellbeing
* Conduct welfare checks
* Ensure the building is secure including health & safety checks and maintaining an awareness of who is in the building
* Deal with challenging behaviours
* Address any additional needs the people we support might have
* Support the people we support with cleaning their room and cleaning the scheme communal areas
Who We Are Looking For
* Ability to work with and build rapport with vulnerable and disadvantaged people and to provide support and advice appropriately
* Ability to work well within a team
* Ability to prioritise tasks and manage own workload with minimal supervision
* Relevant experience or transferable skills
* Demonstrate the right attitudes in line with Codi values
* IT literate
* Ability to deal with challenging and emergency situations
* Good communication skills
