Key Responsibilities
Ricardo is seeking to further strengthen its Land business through the appointment of an analyst consultant who will contribute to the delivery of our catchment management and natural capital projects in addition to supporting wider policy analysis.The successful candidate will support a range of exciting and innovative projects within our Land team. You will work alongside our project managers and technical experts to provide high quality support for the delivery of projects and programmes. The role will include, research, data analysis, report writing, organising events, drafting communications, helpline support (phone and email), and supporting the preparation of proposals responding to our clients’ needs. Managing your time across several projects and will be responsible for the quality of your work, liaising with other consultants to incorporate your contribution into wider project outputs. Have, or be keen to develop, an understanding or expertise in water resource management and natural capital assessments
Key Competencies And Experience
* A Bachelors (2.1 or above) in a scientific subject.
* An interest in on water resource management or natural capital.
* Understanding of the interactions between land management and the environment, particularly, climate, air quality, biodiversity, water and soil.
* High accuracy with strong attention to detail and the ability to scrutinise data.
* Have personal drive and determination to succeed, be self-determining and able to positively contribute to the team.
* Strong communications skills (both written and oral), and confident comfortable providing helpline support by telephone.
* Interest and awareness of key environmental, biodiversity and climate change policies and issues.
Skills And Behaviours
* Strong numeracy skills and an interest and talent for data analysis are essential.
* Very good IT skills in commonly used software, e.g. Microsoft Office (Excel, Word and Access).
* Strong Geographic Information Systems (GIS) skills and familiarity with ArcGIS and/or QGIS.
* Effective communication skills, both written and oral and basic presentation skills.
* Excellent organisational and time management skills.
* Self-reliant and proactive with good problem-solving skills.
* Flexibility, resilience and enthusiasm.
* Strong team working skills.
* Relevant work experience is an advantage, but not essential.
