The opportunity

Are you a seasoned copywriting leader with a passion for innovative storytelling? Join GUS as the Head of Digital Copy and guide a dynamic team of writers, using cutting-edge technologies and trends to create compelling content that connects with prospective students and drives organizational success.

In this role, you'll lead global content initiatives, integrating AI and digital platforms to develop impactful campaigns across multiple channels, including organic, paid, B2B, and new platform features. You’ll foster a modern, creative team, balancing technology with creative expertise to deliver world-class content.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in creating engaging content for multinational companies and leading successful creative teams.


Key responsibilities

* Lead the creation of digital copy across multiple channels (SEO, PPC, social, email, etc.), utilising the latest trends, technologies, and AI-driven content.
* Manage and plan agent communication and social media calendars, improving efficiency with innovative tools and methods.
* Optimise team productivity, balancing quality and quantity, and leveraging tools for insightful reports and dashboards.
* Serve as the quality lead, reviewing and approving all content in the CMS workflow.
* Present industry-leading solutions, trends, and insights, shaping the future of copywriting for the next generation of students.
* Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration and forward thinking ideas within the team.
* Evaluate and implement productivity and AI tools to streamline processes and enhance the copywriting workflow.
* Design and lead continuous learning programs on AI, copywriting, and digital content trends.
* Conduct quality control and content audits, ensuring adherence to brand guidelines and leveraging AI insights.
* Promote an inclusive, positive team culture, encouraging innovation and adaptability to digital trends.
* Manage relationships with internal partners and stakeholders, ensuring smooth communication and collaboration.
* Guide and develop the team in modern copywriting techniques, including AI application.
* Collaborate with HR and leadership to recruit, onboard, and develop a skilled team in AI-driven copywriting.
* Address team issues proactively, ensuring a positive, future focused working environment.


Qualifications & education

Essential

* Undergraduate level or equivalent work experience

Desirable

* Digital marketing qualification
* Writing qualification


Requirements

* 7+ years of creative copywriting across various channels, markets, and audiences.
* 3+ years in a leadership or managerial role, successfully managing and mentoring diverse teams.
* Strong research, analytical and data-driven decision-making skills to assess content performance and inform strategies.
* Deep knowledge of emerging technologies like generative AI, automation, and data analytics, with hands-on experience enhancing productivity.
* Exceptional project management abilities, capable of handling multiple projects and ensuring timely, high-quality execution.
* Excellent communication skills, with experience presenting ideas to stakeholders and collaborating across teams.
* Proven experience leading international teams, with a focus on cultural nuances and managing distributed teams.
* Strong strategic and creative problem-solving skills, driving innovation in content and copywriting.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office, project management tools, and digital marketing software.
* Native or near-native proficiency in English, with excellent writing, editing, and grammar skills (AP Style preferred).
* Experience designing and implementing learning and development programs for copywriting teams.
* A portfolio showcasing exceptional writing, creativity, and successful team projects.
* Proactive, forward-thinking mindset, anticipating trends and challenges in digital copywriting.
* Passion for the educational space and familiarity with content tools like SEO (SEMrush, Ahrefs), social media management (Buffer, Hootsuite), CMS (WordPress), and Salesforce.
* Experience in SEO, SEM, social media advertising, and content marketing.
