As a Lighting Designer you will be responsible for creating design solutions and producing lighting schemes which maximises our core products.
Key Responsibilities
Customer Relationships
* Taking design briefs/guidance from the Sales departments or client in order to work on lighting schemes that will add value to the business process and generate sales
* Liaising with Customer Relationship Managers and Customer Support Managers to ensure all project requirements are clearly understood by all parties and tasks are delegated or escalated where necessary
* Liaising with clients and attending client meetings when required
* Clearly communicate your design intent when handing over projects to either the customer or relevant work colleagues
* Create presentations through InDesign and/or Powerpoint to communicate design intent to clients
* Assisting in the development of special design led works when required
Consistency
* Ensuring workload schedule is current and up to date to allow effective reporting
* Able to work to deadlines and prioritising workloads
* Ensure lighting design aligns with any required sustainability and energy efficiency requirements
* Creating configuration drawings through CAD and/or hand sketching to aid in correct quotation and ordering of component-based systems
* Produce lighting design schemes/solutions in line with best practice and in accordance with British Standards and other regulating bodies
* Working knowledge of lighting design software package (Dialux Evo)
* Efficient in the use of 2D or 3D AutoCAD. Knowledge in SketchUp would be beneficial but not a must
* Ensuring hard copy and digital filing is in line with agreed Company procedures
* Keeping internal systems and contacts updated in line with agreed Company formatting
* Striving for accurate and error-free work, using internal and external support where necessary
* Reporting to the Design Team Leader and regularly attending and participating in Design team meetings

* Following factory trips train relevant teams on all new products and technological developments
* Collaborating with all Design team members in order to learn from each other and develop a broad set of skills, through teamwork
* Continually grow and develop your product knowledge
* Maintaining professional and technical knowledge by attending workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; benchmarking state-of-the-art practices
* Identifying opportunities to up-sell/cross-sell and showcase the advantages of the Company's products/services

Qualifications
* Degree or other professional qualification, preferably in design
* Lighting controls (Casambi focused) qualification desirable
