TSR Legal are proud to offer a new role are on behalf of a respected and growing law firm, recognised in the Legal 500. A need has arisen for a talented Legal Cashier to join their busy Accounts department. This is a crucial role that supports the firm's financial operations and ensures compliance with regulatory requirements.
The Opportunity:
As Legal Cashier, you will play a key role in managing the firm's financial transactions, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring compliance with the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA) Accounts Rules. Working closely with the accounts team and fee earners, you'll be part of a collaborative environment that values accuracy, integrity, and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
Client Account Management
* Maintain and reconcile client and office accounts.
* Process client payments including cheques, BACS, CHAPS, and card transactions.
* Ensure all activity complies with current SRA Accounts Rules.
Bank Transactions
* Monitor daily bank transactions and accurately allocate funds.
* Prepare and process daily and monthly bank reconciliations.
* Handle routine banking tasks including deposits and withdrawals.
Financial Administration
* Process supplier invoices and coordinate payment runs.
* Manage petty cash and handle expense claims.
* Produce financial reports such as cash flow statements and balance sheets.
Compliance
* Ensure adherence to all legal and regulatory financial procedures.
* Support internal and external audits with required documentation.
Support
* Respond to account queries from fee earners and support staff.
* Provide general financial assistance and support across the firm.
What We're Looking For:
* Previous experience as a Legal Cashier or in a similar finance role within legal or professional services.
* Strong understanding of the SRA Accounts Rules and financial compliance standards.
* Proficiency with legal accounting software (e.g., LEAP, Xero, or similar) and MS Office Suite.
* Excellent attention to detail and time management skills.
* Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills; a proactive team player.
