Our client, a well-established and highly respected manufacturing business, is seeking an experienced and motivated Production Team Leader to join their growing operation. This is an excellent opportunity for either an established Production Team Leader or an ambitious Production Operative ready to step into a leadership role.
Working within steel fabrication and assembly environments, you will play a key role in leading, developing, and motivating a successful production team while driving performance, quality, safety, and continuous improvement.

The Role
Reporting to the Production Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing daily operations within the production facility, ensuring high standards of safety, efficiency, and product quality are consistently achieved.
Key responsibilities include:
Leading, motivating, and developing a team of approximately 15 employees
Managing daily workloads, staffing requirements, and supporting hands-on production activities when required
Ensuring production work orders and goods inward checks are completed on time and to the highest standard
Supporting production planning and resource allocation to meet operational KPIs and customer expectations
Driving continuous improvement initiatives and promoting Lean manufacturing principles
Maintaining high standards of health & safety, housekeeping, and quality compliance
Conducting risk assessments, H&S inspections, and supporting 5S activities
Monitoring team attendance and performance
Encouraging a positive and collaborative working culture focused on development and success
About You
The successful candidate will demonstrate strong leadership capability and a proactive approach to problem-solving within a manufacturing environment.
You will ideally have:
Previous experience in a production leadership or supervisory role
Experience within fabrication, manufacturing, or assembly operations
Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement methodologies
Strong people management and communication skills
Experience conducting risk assessments and H&S inspections
Excellent organisational and prioritisation skills
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
A results-driven approach with a strong focus on quality and performance
