Supervising Social Worker – Kinship & Permanence Team. 37 hours per week. Bridgend County Borough Council is seeking full-time Supervising Social Workers to join the Kinship & Permanence Team following an internal promotion and ongoing expansion.
We aim to recognise Kinship Carers as professionals and involve them actively when decisions are made about children in their care. We strive to ensure Kinship Carers receive the right support at the right time to achieve the best outcomes for the children and young people in their care. We co-produce our service with Kinship Carers to reflect their needs. We are seeking Social Workers who share our passion for Kinship Care.
In this role you will evidence your ability to complete comprehensive, evidence‑based Connected Persons and Special Guardianship assessments of kinship carers and provide support through reflective supervision, Annual Reviews and learning and development opportunities.
You will work collaboratively with Kinship carers, Children and Families, and other professionals as part of the team around the child. You will be organised, able to prioritise work to meet timescales, and have excellent communication skills. Duties also include supporting the General Fostering Team with Duty, Recruitment and Retention activities, sitting on Foster Panel and engaging in Team Meetings and Development Days.

Bridgend County Borough is located between Swansea and Cardiff, with access to urban, coastal and rural settings. A relocation package of up to £8,000 will be considered for this post.
