The Role
We are seeking an experienced Senior Management Accountant to join a well-established, fast-paced organisation on a fixed term basis (up to 10 months) to cover maternity leave.
This is a key role within the finance team, ideal for someone who can hit the ground running and quickly add value in a dynamic environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Prepare weekly and monthly management accounts in line with reporting deadlines
* Maintain balance sheet integrity, including reconciliations
* Deliver budgets, forecasts, and reforecasts in collaboration with operational teams
* Provide variance analysis with clear, actionable insights
* Support year-end audits and statutory reporting
* Act as a finance business partner to operational stakeholders
* Produce detailed cost analysis (including labour, overheads, and product costing)
* Monitor and report on key performance indicators
* Drive improvements in financial controls, processes, and reporting
* Support finance system enhancements and integrations
* Ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations
* Mentor junior finance team members and build strong cross-functional relationships
Essential
* Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
* Strong experience in a management accounting role
* Proven background in budgeting and forecasting
* Excellent balance sheet and reconciliation skills
* Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
* Strong Excel and financial systems expertise
* Able to start at short notice or immediately available

* Experience in a complex, fast-moving business environment
* Exposure to organisations undergoing change or transformation
