Our client is a BTL specialist, offering a wide portfolio of BTL mortgages to their customers. They have a fantastic opportunity for an experience, BTL specialist to join them as an Underwriting Manager. In this role, you will manage the end to end mortgage processing and underwriting teams, ensuring all loans are written within the company’s risk appetite, alongside providing a best of class service to intermediary partners and borrowers.
Their head office is based in Milton Keynes, and they operate a hybrid working policy. They ask for 2 days based at their head office, which must be a Monday and Thursday, then 3 days working remotely.
Duties of the Underwriting Manager will include:
1. Lead, manage and develop the mortgage processing teams to deliver an excellent customer journey.
2. Act as a senior underwriter, approving Buy to Let loans within mandate and carrying out 2nd case reviews on loans underwritten by the team.
3. Work with the compliance team to monitor and develop oversight controls to ensure consistent delivery of good outcomes for customers.
4. Deal with and action post offer queries from the outsourcing servicing partner.
5. Manage the third-party relationships to ensure service levels, controls and governance are maintained.
The successful individual will possess:

7. A current or recently held BTL mortgage mandate, alongside experience of manual underwriting BTL complex mortgage applications (inc. LYD company, HMO, Multi Let properties)
