Premises Officer Location: Northamptonshire Contract: Full-time, Permanent (subject to probation) Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience Start Date: As soon as possible Link3 Recruitment are seeking a reliable, proactive and hardworking Premises Officer to join our dedicated team at a thriving secondary school in Northamptonshire. This is a key role in ensuring the school site is safe, secure, well maintained and welcoming for pupils, staff and visitors. The Role As Premises Officer, you will be responsible for the day-to-day maintenance, security and health and safety of the school site. You will work closely with senior leaders and Trust colleagues to ensure statutory compliance and a high standard of site management. Key Responsibilities Maintain and implement appropriate security measures and procedures for school buildings and facilities Carry out all required statutory site checks, ensuring records are completed and maintained electronically Ensure compliance with the Trust’s Health & Safety Policy, relevant legislation and regulations Follow COSHH regulations and safe systems of work at all times Accurately record and maintain statutory checks using Trust systems Where applicable, manage the hydrotherapy pool, including statutory checks and safe operation Undertake general site duties, maintenance and support as required This list is not exhaustive and the post holder may be required to undertake other reasonable duties associated with the role. Essential Experience & Skills Strong DIY skills with the ability to carry out minor repairs to buildings and equipment Willing and able to operate hand tools, cleaning machinery and site equipment Ability to carry out physical tasks, including lifting, carrying and moving equipment Enjoy working in a school environment with pupils and demonstrate empathy and understanding of their needs ICT skills sufficient to accurately complete electronic records Full UK driving licence Desirable Experience & Training Experience of managing or supervising a team Previous experience working in a school, academy or college environment Training or experience in one or more of the following: Joinery Painting and decorating Plumbing Electrical work Qualifications GCSE English and Maths (Grades A*–C) or equivalent (Level 2 Literacy/Numeracy) – Desirable What We Offer: A supportive and friendly working environment Opportunities for training and professional development The chance to play a vital role in supporting pupils’ learning and wellbeing Safeguarding & Compliance Right to Work: All candidates must have the legal Right to Work in the UK.
