Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCO) – Northamptonshire

We are looking for a dynamic SENCO based in Northamptonshire to cover our South Region with travel to Wolverhampton and High Wycombe.

Responsibilities and Qualifications

* Qualifications and Education: Degree or equivalent; National Award for Special Educational Needs Coordination (NASENCO) or NPQ in SEND; SENCO Advanced Certificate and completion of the Patoss AAA course desirable.
* SEND Leadership Experience: Experience managing day‑to‑day responsibilities of SEND provision within an education setting; developing, monitoring and evaluating specific areas of SEND provision; leading staff to deliver outcomes for pupils with special educational needs.
* Professional Experience: Track record of effective work with challenging students, partnering with parents, carers and community; experience across secondary age range; understanding of virtual learning environments; experience with Ofsted inspections under the non‑association independent schools framework desirable.
* Knowledge & Compliance: In‑depth understanding of safeguarding, child protection, equality, inclusion and application in schools supporting vulnerable learners.
* Leadership & Values: Confident, inspirational leader offering support and challenge; role‑model high expectations; coaching, mentoring, motivating staff and students.
* Analytical & Problem‑Solving: Strong analytical skills; interpret complex information, identify key issues, make sound decisions; identify and follow‑up problems.
* Communication: Excellent verbal and written skills; influence and engage students, parents, governors and colleagues.
* Personal Qualities: Highly organized, resilient, prioritise and meet deadlines; enthusiastic, creative, relate well to children and inspire progress.
