The successful candidate will play a crucial role in providing exceptional support to pupils with special educational needs, ensuring they receive the individualised attention and guidance necessary to thrive in their learning environment. As a Part-time SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with the class teacher and SEN Coordinator to implement tailored strategies and interventions that cater to the unique needs of each pupil. Your primary focus will be to foster a positive and inclusive learning atmosphere, where every child feels valued, supported, and encouraged to reach their full potential. Key responsibilities of the role include: Collaborating with the class teacher to develop and deliver differentiated lesson plans and resources that align with the pupils' individual education plans (IEPs) Providing one-to-one and small group support to pupils with SEN, adapting teaching methods and materials to ensure accessibility and understanding Monitoring and assessing pupils' progress, maintaining accurate records, and contributing to the evaluation and review of IEPs Assisting pupils with personal care needs, such as toileting and hygiene, when necessary Promoting positive behaviour management strategies and supporting pupils in developing social and emotional skills Communicating regularly with parents, carers, and other professionals to ensure a holistic approach to each pupil's development and well-being To be considered for this rewarding role, you should possess the following qualifications and attributes: A minimum of NVQ Level 2 or equivalent in a relevant field, such as childcare, education, or special needs support Previous experience working with children with SEN in an educational setting A strong understanding of the challenges faced by pupils with SEN and the strategies to support their learning and development Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills A patient, empathetic, and nurturing approach to working with children The ability to work effectively as part of a team and maintain professionalism in challenging situations In return for your dedication and expertise, our client offers a competitive salary range of £90 to £105 per day, depending on experience and qualifications.
