We are looking to recruit as Delivery Suite Team Leader to a part time (23 hrs/wk) 12 month secondment to cover maternity leave.
An opportunity has arisen for a dynamic, highly motivated and enthusiastic midwife to join our Homerton family as one of the Delivery Suite Coordinators.
The appointed candidate will work in partnership with other band 7 coordinators, team leaders, ward managers and matrons delivering a high standard of care that is evidence based and meets local and national guidelines.
They will work closely with obstetric, anaesthetic and neonatal colleagues as well as other members of the maternity team, delivering a high-quality service to meet the needs of women.
The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate excellent clinical knowledge base, expertise and a passion for promoting an optimal birth experience within the complex care setting. They must work in line with the NHS E Delivery Suite Coordinator framework working across all 6 domains.
We are looking for someone who understands the role of managing a shift and can delegate and lead the demands of the wider maternity service.

Main duties of the job
1. To provide effective, dynamic and cohesive midwifery leadership and management to a team of midwives, working in the acute hospital setting.
2. To deliver robust evidence-based midwifery care and promote individualised women centred midwifery care in partnership with women and other stakeholders.
3. An integral part of the role will be the provision of clinical management and leadership in the absence of the clinical midwifery manager.
4. To act as an exemplary role model and effective and pivotal resource to midwifery and other staff.
5. To have competent and proficient IT knowledge and skills to aid effective communication throughout and management of the maternity unit.
