Overview
A large, well-established primary school in Bristol, operating within the local authority education framework, is seeking an experienced and proactive ICT Network Manager to join its team on a full‑time temporary basis to cover a long‑term sickness absence. This is a key role within the school, ensuring that ICT systems effectively support teaching, learning and day‑to‑day operations.
The Role
The ICT Network Manager will be responsible for the planning, management and ongoing development of the school's ICT network. The postholder will ensure the network provides a reliable learning resource for pupils and an effective information system for staff.
* Manage and maintain the school's ICT network to support learning and administration
* Plan and implement future ICT developments to ensure systems remain up to date
* Oversee and support the work of an ICT Technician
* Manage the ICT budget, ensuring best value for money
* Ensure all ICT systems comply with Health & Safety regulations, providing a safe working environment for staff and pupils
Ideal Candidate
* Have proven experience managing ICT networks, ideally within an education or public sector setting
* Be able to balance strategic planning with hands‑on technical support
* Have experience overseeing or managing technical staff
* Demonstrate a strong understanding of ICT‑related Health & Safety requirements
* Work in line with local authority policies, codes of conduct and equal opportunities commitments
