Your Role
The WSP Defence & Security team is seeking a Project Manager to be part of a rapidly growing team, working on large-scale projects. This role offers excellent opportunities for career development.
You will have extensive experience managing new build and retrofit commercial properties through RIBA Stages 1-7 and a thorough understanding of the NEC4 contract. Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills are essential to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to high standards.
Responsibilities
* Act as the primary point of contact for clients, ensuring their needs are met throughout design and construction.
* Compile monthly project reports and facilitate regular meetings and progress updates.
* Manage contracts per NEC3 & NEC4 requirements, including handling Compensation Events and early warnings.
* Oversee project budgets, including estimation, tracking, and reporting.
* Define project scope, goals, and deliverables collaboratively.
* Manage project schedules using MS Project, Primavera P6, or similar tools.
* Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations across project stages.
* Identify and mitigate risks, resolve disputes, and manage project resources.
* Collaborate with project teams to align goals and ensure consistent delivery.
Candidate Profile
* Experience managing NEC3/4 contracts; accreditation is a plus.
* Proven success managing commercial projects (£10m - £80m+) for public sector clients.
* Ability to lead multidisciplinary teams effectively.
* Knowledge of systems like Oracle Cloud, CEMAR, or Sypro is advantageous.
* Degree in engineering or construction management.
* Chartered or incorporated member of a relevant professional body.
* Certifications such as APM, MSP, PMI, PRINCE2, or Six Sigma are beneficial.
* Security Clearance or ability to obtain it.
