An excellent opportunity has arisen to join the vibrant, warm, and friendly Admin team within the Emergency Department. Shifts are rostered three months in advance to allow our team to plan ahead. This is a challenging role, and successful candidates will need to be enthusiastic, motivated, and have a flexible approach. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are essential. Part-Time Post - 30 hours per week
Shifts will be rostered 12 weeks in advance to cover the following hours: 07:30-15:30, 12:00-20:00, and 22:00-06:00. Responsibilities include:
1. Arranging referrals, appointments, and outcomes into relevant clinics following patient attendances using the electronic patient record system.
2. Discharging patient records, ensuring all coding is complete and accurate, and clinical pathways are followed as per Trust policy.
3. Carrying out daily maintenance of ED medical notes, including retrieval of copies from ward admissions.
4. Liaising with nursing staff, consultants, secretarial, and other disciplines regarding clinic-related issues.
5. Arranging transport for patients returning home or attending follow-up clinics.
6. Scanning and indexing patient records, including alert notifications, in line with departmental procedures, and undertaking regular maintenance of scanners.
7. Covering reception duties, including registering patients entering the ED and recording all relevant information accurately.
8. Escalating patient concerns to relevant clinical staff.
9. Handling telephone and face-to-face enquiries from GPs, patients, relatives, and other organizations and individuals.
