We are now recruiting a highly organised and detail‑driven Inbound Logistics & Inventory Coordinator to support the efficient, compliant and cost‑effective flow of materials into the business.
About the role
This role is responsible for coordinating inbound logistics operations, managing freight forwarder/service provider relationships, maintaining inventory accuracy, and ensuring full compliance with import and customs regulations. The ideal candidate will collaborate across Planning, Purchasing, Finance and external logistics partners to ensure reliable inbound transportation, timely reporting, and alignment with wider supply chain goals. The role also supports process improvement initiatives, landed cost accuracy, and inbound logistics performance reporting.
Responsibilities
Operational
* Manage inbound logistics operations, including imports and material movement into the company.
* Coordinate cross-trade shipments and imports/resale functions as required to support business operations.
* Ensure compliance with import regulations, including customs, duty deferment, bonded warehouses, EMCS, and origin rules, maintaining accurate records and documentation.
* Accurately record and manage landed costs for financial and operational reporting.
* Support financial and operational reconciliations through accurate documentation and reporting of inbound shipments and landed costs.
* Monitor inventory levels and provide timely reporting to support planning and purchasing activities.
* Assist on logistics-related projects to enhance efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and service quality.
* Manage inbound shipments across multiple regions, optimising lead-times and operational efficiency.
* Identify and implement opportunities for process improvement to enhance efficiency and cost-effectiveness in inbound logistics.
Relationships
* Collaborate with internal teams (planning, purchasing, finance) to align inbound logistics with overall supply chain goals.
* Maintain effective relationships with haulage and logistics partners, negotiating rates and conducting regular supplier reviews.
* Liaise with freight forwarders and external suppliers to coordinate international shipments and ensure service standards are met.
* Monitor shipping terms, clearance rates, and service quality to ensure cost-effective and reliable inbound logistics.
* Provide timely reporting on inbound logistics performance and spend.
Other
* Support ad hoc logistics and operational tasks as requested by management.
About you
Qualifications: Knowledge of import/export regulations and trade compliance is a requirement however no qualifications are a requirement for this role however any relevant Logistics, Supply Chain, Operations Qualifications would desirable.
Experience: Experience with organising, planning and managing inbound logistics and inventory. Experience working with multiple stakeholders and maintaining strong supplier relationships. Proficient at using EPR and logistics systems for inventory management.
