Your new role
As a Special Needs Teaching Assistant, you’ll work closely with students who require additional support to access the curriculum and succeed in a mainstream setting. You’ll be a key part of the school’s SEN team, helping to create a nurturing and inclusive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities
1. Provide 1:1 and small group support for students with a range of special educational needs
2. Assist with the implementation of EHCPs and personalised learning plans
3. Adapt classroom materials and activities to meet individual needs
4. Support students’ emotional and social development
5. Collaborate with teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals
What you'll need to succeed
6. Experience working with children or young people with SEN (in schools or alternative settings)
7. A patient, empathetic, and proactive approach
8. Strongmunication and teamwork skills
9. A genuine passion for inclusive education
10. Relevant qualifications (, CACHE Level 2/3, Teaching Assistant Certificate) are desirable but not essential
