We have a training opportunity for highly motivated and enthusiastic radiographer looking to progress their career into a senior role within the Interventional radiography team. The role involves working as a senior radiographer in Interventional, fluoroscopy and the cardiac catheter lab as well as supporting the multi-disciplinary team with varying roles within these areas.
Main duties of the job
Motivating staff, providing guidance to less experienced team members, the successful candidate will be an integral part of the senior IR team. There is also the expectation the successful candidate will train in the role of vascular access practitioner, performing ultrasound guided venous access within our Trust.

Job responsibilities
To perform clinical imaging duties
To report operational issues, contribute to service development and promote good working relations within the Trust
To deal with difficult situations operationally that may arise
To support the Radiology Services Manager in delivering a first class service
Support Lead Radiographer in improving quality of service, and whilst working towards the Imaging Services Accreditation Scheme
To take an active role in the management of unregistered staff groups within the Radiology Department
To train and supervise staff in the optimal use of equipment in order to meet service demands
To organize and prioritize their workload and that of junior staff working in their clinical area
To contribute to the Departments delivery of a timely, high quality diagnostic imaging service
To adapt skills and knowledge, in response to technological advancements that enhance overall patient care
To act as the first line management for radiographers and undertake a supervisory role over junior staff and students
Following radiation legislation, responsible for the personal safety of themselves, patients, visitors and staff, both internal (e.g. crash team, pharmacist) and external (e.g. fire officers, engineers) to the Trust
Participate in and help develop the service generally
Have the freedom/discretion to make independent clinical decisions under broad professional guidelines
Be accountable for own professional actions and conduct
Monitor and develop policies and procedures within the department and ensure that safety measures are maintained
Be prepared to work extended days on a shift basis as required by the service
Be prepared to undertake enhanced practice in vascular access or other to meet service needs
Person Specification
Qualifications and Training
* DCR, BSc or MSc in Radiography or equivalent
* Current state registration
* Interest in Interventional Radiography
* Current or previous NHS experience
* Interest in role development and enhanced radiography practice within interventional and fluoroscopy services.
* ILS training
* ANTT training
* Evidence of post registration training and achievements
* Post qualification experience in Interventional and Fluoroscopy
Skills and knowledge
* Evidence of good organisational skills
* Evidence of leadership and supervisory skills
* Experience of working/shadowing with interventional, fluoroscopy and cardiac cath lab
* Teaching qualification
* Competence in cannulation/venepuncture
* Understanding of advanced practice principles relevant to role
