Job Summary
We are part of Suffolk Primary Care, a group of GP practices delivering patient care across Suffolk. We are seeking an enthusiastic, flexible Care Navigator Supervisor with excellent interpersonal skills to join our team. The role is part‑time, 20 hours per week (Thu 08:00‑18:30, Fri 08:00‑18:30) with flexibility for training, holidays and occasional sickness. The job is located at 52 Derby Road, Ipswich.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide leadership, support, supervision and training to the Care Navigation Team.
* Ensure smooth day‑to‑day running and coordination of Care Navigation processes and rota.
* Act as a focal point for patients and staff, handling queries, complaints and providing guidance.
* Support practice management with patient complaints resolution, process improvements, and new patient registrations.
* Cover duties of absent staff and maintain patient information systems (SystmOne, AskMyGP).
* Carry out start–and–end of day procedures, secure premises, and maintain efficient filing and mail processing.
* Maintain accurate telephone handling, enquiry management, and provide timely information to patients.
* Support the practice in implementing and developing agreed changes and improvements.
* Other tasks as directed by line managers.
Qualifications
* GCSE level or equivalent, including Grade C in English and Maths.
* One year experience in a busy customer service or reception environment.
* Experience working in a healthcare environment.
* Experience working in a team.
Desirable
* NVQ level 2 in customer service.
* Confidence to use own judgement, resourcefulness and local knowledge to respond to patient or staff queries.
* Previous NHS experience.
* Experience of clinical systems, including SystmOne.
