Overview
Working closely with the Head of Discipline of Hydrogeology, you will manage the delivery of water‑resource and low‑flow studies aligned with our clients’ WINEP commitments. You will be a key member of the UK Water Catchment Management & Maritime capability team and will provide technical delivery across a wide scope of geological and hydrogeological projects, offering specialist support in hydrogeological data review, groundwater‑surface water interaction, conceptual site modelling, monitoring scheme design, model interrogation, signal‑test design and analysis, and impact assessment of abstractions relative to WINEP objectives.
Remit and Responsibilities
* Lead and collaborate with an industry‑leading multidisciplinary team, including hydrologists, hydro‑morphologists, aquatic ecologists and environmental economists.
* Oversee, review and sign off on complex deliverables, ensuring alignment with project requirements.
* Drive technical excellence, maintaining subject‑matter expertise and staying current with industry and technological innovation.
* Mentor colleagues and engage with a broader professional network to support continuous improvement.
* Develop and deliver technical solutions that meet and exceed current and future industry requirements.
* Act as Project Verifier on local, regional and national projects.
* Submit complex technical papers to clients.
Qualifications
* Industry‑recognised expertise in hydrogeology, focusing on water resources and low‑flow studies aligned with WINEP obligations.
* Extensive experience producing a wide range of deliverables within the broader hydrogeology discipline.
* Demonstrated experience in water resources and low‑flow studies related to WINEP.
* Strong knowledge of groundwater site characterisation, groundwater‑surface water interaction, conceptual site model generation, and quantitative groundwater and abstraction impact assessments.
* Proficiency in numerical modelling software such as MODFLOW, FEFLOW or similar.
* Honours degree in earth sciences or equivalent.
* Master’s degree or doctorate in hydrogeology, or equivalent professional experience.
* Chartership with the Geological Society of London or a similar professional body.
