Around 3,500 farmers based in East Anglia and the East Midlands supply our four advanced manufacturing sites with eight million tonnes of sugar beet every year. We produce over 1 million tonnes of sugar for customers across the UK, Ireland and increasingly in the EU and world sugar markets.
Agriculture Manager
Location: Yorkshire | Full time | Salary: £41,000+ (depending on experience)
Job Purpose
Here at British Sugar, we are on a transformational journey to strengthen relationships with our 2,300 growers and industry partners. The Agriculture Manager role is critical in making this happen.
Responsibilities
* Spending a sizeable part of your time on the road, you will be the key point of contact for 120 sugar beet growers within the county of Yorkshire.
* Build strong relationships by supporting individual growers’ needs, improving yields and optimising the crop to grow on-farm profitability.
* Drive the update of LimeX by growers and potential customers across your geographical area.
* Collaborate and coordinate across British Sugar’s teams and Industry Partners to support growers and British Sugar’s needs.
* Identify and develop revenue potential within your grower portfolio.
* Produce robust business plans focused on growers’ desire to grow sugar beet sustainably and efficiently to maximise profitability.
* Maintain and ensure accurate grower data.
* Influence data-driven decision making on farms to promote best practices.
Qualifications and Skills
* Experience in a field-based role with account management responsibilities and exposure to working alongside KPIs and targets.
* Open-minded with the ability and willingness to embrace change.
* Solution-led approach to work and excellent relationship-building skills.
* Clear and concise communication to engage stakeholders.
* Proficient in Microsoft tools; ability to manage workload and prioritise to drive results.

* Full UK Driving Licence is essential to reach growers.
