Job Description
We’re seeking a Higher Scientific Officer (HSO) to join a cross-government team working on Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR) Surveillance. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to critical public health work, supporting the UK’s strategy to tackle one of the most significant global health challenges.
The Role
You’ll play a key part in supporting AMR surveillance and evidence activities by:
* Coordinating and attending stakeholder meetings (setting agendas, managing invites, and chasing actions).
* Drafting, reviewing, and proof-reading scientific reports, papers, and policy updates.
* Taking minutes at technical meetings and writing clear summaries.
* Supporting contractual and financial processes.
* Validating and analysing surveillance data, and assisting with backlog clearance.
* Producing training material and translating scientific evidence into policy outputs.
About You
We’re looking for someone who can bring:
1. Knowledge or experience in antimicrobial resistance, ideally with a bacteriology or laboratory background.
