Sphere Solutions are looking for a Mechanical Site Supervisor to work as part of a growing mechanical division, operating not only in South Wales but across the UK. This position is immediately available for candidates with experience who enjoy working as a site lead on commercial new build and refurbishment projects across the UK, ensuring that all aspects of the installation are completed to a high standard and within the allocated programme. RESPONSIBILITIES * Managing all aspects of the project at a site level. * Managing operatives and subcontractors, ensuring the installation of various packages is compliant with drawings and specifications. * Managing all health, safety and environmental compliance on site, including carrying out toolbox talks with operatives and subcontractors. * Ensuring compliance with the latest policies and staying up to date with any procedural changes. * Ensuring installations are completed to the highest quality of workmanship, using internal QA procedures to record and track the quality process. * Reporting on site progress and supporting the client by attending site meetings. * Assisting with the commissioning and handover process (supported by the Project Manager). PERSONAL QUALITIES * The successful candidate will be enthusiastic and show a willingness to learn. * Hard-working with a good level of IT literacy, including experience with Microsoft Office. * Good timekeeping and organisational skills are essential, with the ability to work both independently and as part of a wider team. ENTRY REQUIREMENTS * A minimum of 5 years’ experience as a Mechanical Site Supervisor on large-scale commercial projects, along with an NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Heating and Ventilation (Commercial), Building Services Installer/Craftsperson, or Plumbing Systems. * A strong overall knowledge and understanding of a wide variety of mechanical systems and their installation methods. * Previous experience managing subcontractors is desirable. * Excellent time management skills, the ability to multitask, and strong attention to detail. * A good level of IT literacy with experience in Microsoft Office, and a full UK driving licence. TYPICAL WORKING WEEK The role is based on a 37-hour working week: 8:00am to 4:00pm Monday to Thursday, and 8:00am to 3:00pm on Fridays (excluding travel time), with a 30-minute lunch break. Occasional weekend work or overtime may be required. As not all projects are based in South Wales, candidates must be willing to work away during the week when required. Lodging will be provided where necessary
