Fugro have an exciting opportunity to join one of our key service lines, Marine Site Characterisation
(MSC) Geotechnical team situated in the Southwest of the UK (Falmouth), in the financial role of
Project Controller.Ideally the role will be located in Falmouth.
In this vital role for Fugro, you’ll provide day to day financial administration and business analysis to
the MSC Business Line, project teams and support functions in accordance with accounting
guidelines and project-specific requirements.
You’ll play a huge part in ensuring our projects run smoothly. You’ll have the chance to shape how
this team delivers and progresses, continuously improving ways of working.
In this role, you’ll be accountable for ensuring accurate information is delivered to all key
stakeholders.

Your role and responsibilities
1. Responsible for the timely delivery of Functional, Project and Business line results for monthly
reporting, including performance against forecasts.
2. Reviewing and challenging month end results, including revenue recognition, journals and
accruals.
3. Analysing financial and project data to identify leakages, trends and implement improvements.
4. Assist in developing accurate cost and project reporting across the Business Line.
5. Facilitate the preparation and monitoring of CAPEX applications.
6. Helping improve working capital and cash flow management.
7. Proactively advise Support functions, Business Line and other key stakeholders on finance
related topics and ad hoc projects.
8. Provide information pertinent to budget creation and assist Business Controller and Service
Line Manager with Business Line forecasting and budgeting.
9. To develop and maintain a proactive approach to all financial duties and continuously improve
daily ways of work within area of responsibility.
What you will need to thrive in this role
10. Degree qualified in a relevant discipline OR equivalent vocational qualifications and experience.
11. An Accounting Qualification (ACCA/CIMA/ICAS) is preferred but not essential.
12. PC literate, particularly with strong working knowledge of Excel
13. Excellent communication and organisational skills
14. Exceptional attention to detail with well-developed analytical skills
15. Ability to prioritise workload to meet project and month end deadlines;
16. Self-motivated and possesses the ability to use own initiative to achieve defined goals;
17. Flexible and has an adaptable and proactive approach to work;
