Head of Network and BOS Consulting
Location: Ericsson, Chesterfield, England, United Kingdom (Primary country and city: India (IN) || Gurgaon). This role is global and requires international travel, expected 50% of time.
The objective of Ericsson Consulting is to deliver engagements that generate value for customers and enable greater value to Ericsson. We are looking for a highly experienced Techno‑Operational Consulting Leader to lead the NW & BOS Transformation Consulting practice and be part of the Global Consulting Leadership Team.
Responsibilities
* Drive global P&L and define objectives of NW & BOS Transformation Consulting domain.
* Identify, develop and manage portfolio of leading NW & BOS Transformation Consulting offerings.
* Identify consulting opportunities by working with tech professionals – Sales and Solution Architects.
* Nurture and convert opportunities while contributing actively to consulting proposals.
* Guide / Lead delivery of consulting projects / programs across the globe.
* Engage as thought leader at CxO level.
* Lead NW & BOS Transformation consulting team comprising senior members.
* Manage stakeholders in consulting communities across geographies.
* Actively contribute outside your domain to reach overall business objectives.
Qualifications
* 15+ years of professional experience including demonstrated ability to sell and deliver consulting projects.
* Proven capability to sell and deliver Core / Technology / Operational Consulting projects with a business mindset.
* Previous experience leading consulting business, practice, and teams, including P&L accountability.
* Sound technical knowledge across Core, Cloud, RAN, Telco Orchestration, and B/OSS Transformation domains.
* Sound delivery skills: ability to create plans that align technical strategies with business ambition; highly experienced in formulating strategies, defining transformation journeys; proven ability to excel in fact‑based storytelling with strong influencing skills.
* Strong people and team leadership skills: coaching, enabling development, team growth, operational management.
* Sound behavioral skills: excellent oral and written communication; high orientation towards innovation and learning; experience in international cross‑cultural environments; results‑oriented and commercial thinking.
* Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, and preferably a Master’s in Business.
Domain Expertise Area Details
* AN, Orchestration & Automation transformation
o Good understanding of autonomous networks e2e methodology, orchestration & automation transformation approaches taken by industry leaders.
o Practical experience of transformation delivery programs (organizational, process, systems integration, operational transformation).
* 5G Core and 5G Network
o Good understanding of 5G Core – technology evolution, core deployment options.
o End‑to‑end technology evolution beyond core, especially RAN and transport.
o Strong understanding of business implications of 5G Core and technology roadmap.
* Telco Cloud transformation – Virtualization and Cloud Native
o Knowledge of cloud transformation challenges, impacts, and approaches at industry leaders.
o Practical experience of Telco Cloud Transformation programs and operating models.
o Knowledge of CI/CD, DevOps, and operational processes.
o Expertise on operational implications of moving 5G Core to virtualized/cloud native environments.
* Operational transformation, operating models for 5G Evolution
o Defining operational transformation approaches for evolution to 5G.
o Defining processes (performance management, fault management, assurance, automation, field services), metrics/KPIs, OSS systems knowledge.
* Strong understanding of Agile methodologies, DevOps worldview.
* OSS Systems / Support strategies: operational trends, orchestration solutions, automation, microservices, analytics, open‑source communities (OpenStack, OPNFV, ONAP).
* Awareness of competitor vendor landscape; appreciation of relative strengths/weakness relative to Ericsson portfolio.
* Certifications in TOGAF, ITIL, TMF TAM/SID, ODA.
* Supporting Capability – Telco Cloud Technology
o Understanding of Telco Cloud technology trends (containers, microservices, MEC).
o Public cloud enterprise solutions pros/cons for CSPs.
o Telco Cloud reference architectures.
